Jamat Raza-e-Mustafa Appeals to MEA for Immediate Support and Compensation for Indian Pilgrims Who Passed Away in Madinah

Report /Firoz khan

Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh Jamat Raza-e-Mustafa, the 108-year-old socio-religious organization operating under the holy guidance of Shahzada-e-Huzur Tajush Shariah, renowned Islamic scholar Muhammad Asjad Raza Khan Qadri, has written an appeal to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Government of India, seeking urgent assistance for the families of Indian pilgrims who tragically passed away in Madinah al-Munawwarah.

The organization, headquartered at the historic Dargah-e-Aala Hazrat in Bareilly Sharif—considered the spiritual centre of Sufi Muslims belonging to the Barelvi tradition—expressed deep sorrow over the tragic incident in the sacred city of Madinah. The letter emphasizes that the incident has caused immense grief across India, leaving many families emotionally devastated and facing severe financial hardships.

In the appeal addressed to External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, Jamat Raza-e-Mustafa has requested the following urgent interventions:

1. Immediate confirmation of identities and complete verified information about the Indian pilgrims involved in the tragedy, along with timely updates to their families.

2. Swift coordination with the Indian Consulate in Jeddah and Madinah to ensure medical care for the injured and to complete all necessary formalities with dignity.

3. Support for the repatriation of mortal remains and guidance to families regarding consular procedures and documentation.

4. Engagement with Saudi authorities to ensure a thorough investigation and timely completion of official requirements.

5. Provision of financial compensation and relief for the families of the deceased, acknowledging the hardship and irreplaceable loss they have suffered.

The organization stated that the affected families are in dire need of reassurance and compassionate support. Timely action from the MEA, it said, would bring comfort to grieving households across the country.

The appeal was signed by Salman Hasan Khan (Salman Miya) from Jamat Raza-e-Mustafa, urging the government to prioritise this humanitarian issue and keep the organization informed of all developments.
